KiCAD PRISM · DOCUMENTATION
Open‑source, self‑hosted review, release and component‑governance platform for teams using KiCad
KiCad stays the editor and Git the source of truth. Prism adds the rest: every revision in the browser, reviews with comments, signed-off release packages and a governed library that desktop KiCad places parts from, all on your own hardware.

What your team does with it

Every revision, in the browserSchematic, PCB, 3D and BOM at any commit, cross-probed, with nothing to install.

What changed, and whereCommit against commit: parts, nets, BOM and stackup, each change classified and placed.

Comments that stay putPinned to a part, a net or an area at an exact commit, with class, severity and replies.

From commit to releaseJobset outputs, a release dossier and sign-off before anything reaches the fab.

One library across reposReviewed, immutable part revisions your designers place straight into KiCad.
Simulation StudioDC IR drop on the real copper, rail by rail.

Built for AI agents and automationAn MCP server lets Claude Code and other agents search projects, compare revisions, leave review comments and take a new part to QA review, as you and within your permissions. The same work is open to scripts and CI through the API, SDK, CLI and webhooks.

These are public KiCad projects by other designers, imported into Prism the way a team would import its own. The component catalog in the Library Manager screenshots is CERN’s public KiCad database library.
